When Saving Water is a Violation
For the past 10 years, laundries have been forced to improve operational efficiencies because revenue has been somewhat stagnant. The equipment manufacturers, chemical vendors and other suppliers have supported industry efforts by developing a number of options to reduce utility costs.
The results are well documented by TRSA/UTSA’s Laundry Environmental Stewardship Program (LaundryESP¤). According to the program’s Web site, energy consumption is down 11%, water consumption is down 12.6% and there has been a 40% reduction in pollutants discharged by the industry.
