With economic growth in much of the hospitality market currently in the doldrums, textile service and supplier companies nationwide are taking hits, especially amid rising costs for fuel and other goods.
Hermanns, vice president of W.H. Linen Rental, Clifton, NJ, says he’s witnessed a substantial belt-tightening in the corporate dining world. “We’re seeing some reductions and outright closures in that segment of our base,” he says. “The New York restaurant scene doesn’t seem to be quite as affected. We haven’t yet seen much reduction in business from the restaurants, but we’re certainly anticipating that that will come.” ...
