The 2026 TRSA Plant Employee Compensation Survey is now open. This biannual survey feeds into the TRSA Industry Plant Compensation Benchmarking Report, allowing companies to compare their compensation and benefits programs, and identify best practices across the industry.

The survey includes an Employment Practices section that tracks whether a company employs disabled people, offers public transportation support or has complaint systems for staff. It measures the number of work hours dedicated to different types of training and gathers information about how employees are evaluated.

The TRSA Plant Employee Compensation Report quantifies differences in pay and benefits between various types of linen, uniform and facility services operations for a range of exempt and non‑exempt positions. Companies are classified similarly to the TRSA Industry Performance Report, enabling readers to compare offerings among specialists in healthcare, hospitality, industrial and mixed operations as well as local, regional and national companies.

Companies use this data to compare their pay and benefits with operations similar to theirs in these categories:

• Line of Business: Typical TRSA, Food & Beverage Linen, Industrial, Healthcare, Mixed
• Number of Locations: Single Plant and Multiple Plants (2, 3 or more)
• Sales Volume: Under $7M, $7‑15M, $15‑35M, $35M+

Topics covered in the report include fringe-benefit programs, plant overtime and premium pay policies as well as plant compensation by level, DEI programs and employment practices.

Data is reported for each of the following:

• Demographic Information
• Exempt Plant Employee Compensation
• Non‑Exempt Plant Employee Hourly Wages
• Fringe Benefit Programs

Reliable benchmarking is critical for HR leaders who need to stay competitive in attracting and retaining plant employees,” said Salita Jones, TRSA’s director, education and events. “This survey gives us real data from real operators, which helps guide compensation decisions, budget planning and workforce strategy. Having industry‑specific insights every two years helps keep policies aligned with market expectations and employee needs.”

TRSA members who participate in the survey receive a customized digital copy of the results at no cost for easy benchmarking. Non‑participants may purchase the report.

This survey is conducted every two years. The 2026 edition is being distributed to HR managers and executives at TRSA operator member companies, with a submission deadline of May 15 for this year’s reporting cycle.
