Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply announced the acquisition of Capital Uniform Services of Poughkeepsie, New York, expanding its footprint into the Hudson Valley.
Dempsey, a family-owned independent supplier of uniform and restaurant linen services, acquired Capital Uniform Services, founded in 1979, from founders Dan and Elizabeth Morris.
“Capital Uniform’s customers will continue to receive personal service from members of the Morris family who are staying on to represent Dempsey,” said PJ Dempsey, President of Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply. “Those same friendly faces are now backed by Dempsey’s operational strengths and resources, commitment to innovation and continuing integration of technologies that elevate our customers’ experience.”
Dempsey’s expanded capacity will enable it to serve a higher volume of commercial, industrial and hospitality businesses in the Hudson Valley, with service extending south along the Hudson River from Hyde Park through Poughkeepsie, Beacon and Newburgh, to White Plains and Yonkers in the New York metro area.
In addition to the corporate office in Jessup, PA, Dempsey Uniform has six additional locations, servicing customers in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C. The Capital Uniform acquisition extends that coverage area, strengthening Dempsey’s footprint in New York’s Southern Tier and New York City while adding the Hudson Valley region.
