Diamond Chemical Co. LLC, East Rutherford, NJ, announced the appointment of Wesley Alves as CEO. Alves will become the first nonfamily member to lead Diamond Chemical, succeeding Harold Diamond, who will continue to serve as a partner and strategic adviser to the company during this transition.
Alves brings more than two decades of global leadership experience in industrial manufacturing and operations, including his most recent role as president & CEO – Americas at Armor-IIMAK, a multinational technology and materials group focused on thermal transfer ribbons. There, he oversaw operations spanning the Americas, with full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for a $200 million business and a workforce of more than 1,000 employees.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Wesley to the Diamond Chemical team,” Harold Diamond said. “His deep experience, operational acumen and proven ability to lead through change make him ideally suited to guide the company through its next chapter of growth.”
Alves will work closely with Harold over the coming months to ensure a seamless transition, building on the strong foundation that Harold and the team have built over many years.
“I’m honored to join a company with such a strong legacy and excited to partner with the team as we move into our next phase,” Alves said. “Harold’s leadership has been instrumental in building a strong foundation with high potential, and I look forward to working together to continue that momentum.”
Diamond Chemical was founded in 1930 by Harold’s grandfather, Jacob Diamond. Since taking over the business in the 1980s from his father, Harold has built Diamond Chemical into a leading provider of cleaning chemicals, with operations on the East and West coasts and sales throughout the U.S.
