This fall, TRSA is offering two Virtual Summit Series: one focusing on HR and the other geared toward Health & Safety. Each series will be held once a month from 1-2:15 p.m. EDT over three months. This format allows teams to take a short break from their daily routines to focus on professional development and gather trends in their specific departments.

The HR Summit Series, themed “Empowering HR: Navigating Talent Acquisition and Compliance,” is designed to equip HR professionals with the essential tools and knowledge to effectively manage their workforce in today’s dynamic environment. This series focuses on attracting local talent, staying updated with federal employment regulations and understanding the latest in wage-hour classifications. Through a series of sessions, attendees will gain insights into community-centered recruitment, updates on federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, and the latest developments in wage-hour classifications.

The first session, scheduled for Sept. 8, titled “Finding Talent in YOUR Backyard,” led by Lori Stanger, will explore strategies for engaging and recruiting local talent, fostering community ties, and supporting local economies. The second session on Oct. 7, “Overview of Federal EEO Laws: Updates from the New Administration,” presented by Monica Colunga, will delve into recent changes in EEO laws and their impact on workplace diversity and inclusion. The final session, on Nov. 4, “The Latest on Wage Hour Classifications,” featuring Karen Welton and Amy Kim, will provide updates on worker classification under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), offering practical guidance for compliance. The Health & Safety Virtual Events series, themed “Enhancing Laundry Operations & Safety,” is designed to provide valuable insights and practical guidance for improving safety and efficiency in laundry operations. Kicking off on Sept. 11, the first session, “OSHA Portal: Identifying Top Laundry Injuries,” will focus on recognizing common injuries in the laundry industry and implementing preventive measures. This session will help participants understand the risks associated with laundry operations and learn strategies to mitigate these hazards, ensuring a safer work environment for all employees.

Continuing on Oct. 9, the second session, “Efficient Cart Tuggers for Laundry Cart Transport,” will explore innovative solutions for transporting laundry carts efficiently. Attendees will gain knowledge on the latest equipment and techniques to streamline cart transport, reducing physical strain and enhancing operational productivity. The series will conclude on Nov. 6 with “Fire Safety: Effective Risk Management,” where participants will learn about fire-safety protocols and risk-management strategies to protect their facilities and staff.
