Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine recently visited Economy Linen and Towel Service in Dayton, OH, putting a spotlight on a company that reflects many of the priorities he has emphasized for Ohio’s future: workforce development, business growth and long-term investment in essential industries.
Economy Linen, a longstanding Dayton employer serving healthcare and hospitality customers, offers a clear example of how those priorities connect to real businesses and real jobs in the Miami Valley.
Founded in Dayton in 1931, Economy Linen has grown from a local family business into a regional provider with operations in Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, Indianapolis and Zanesville. The company remains family-owned and is now led by its fourth generation, a fact that gives the business a strong local identity even as it has expanded across multiple markets.
During the visit, Bruce Feldman, president and CEO of Economy, gave DeWine a brief history of the company. Other Economy Linen leaders discussed the company’s economic impact in Ohio, with a focus on workforce development.
DeWine then toured the plant, witnessing the highly mechanical process of producing hygienically clean and safe textiles for healthcare facilities across Ohio.
