Metro Laundry Service, Capitol Heights, MD, was recognized with a Governor’s Citation Award from the Maryland Office of Small, Minority and Women Business Affairs, according to a news release.

This is the first time Metro has received this honor, which recognizes the company’s leadership for their outstanding contributions to the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) small-business community in Maryland.

“We are incredibly honored to receive the Governor’s Citation Award,” said Steven Young, COO of Metro. “This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our entire team and our long-standing commitment to strengthening the small- and minority-owned business community in Maryland through job creation and collaboration. We are proud to contribute to the economic vitality of our state.”

The Governor’s Citation Award celebrates Metro’s longevity as a certified MBE in the Free State and its significant initiatives related to creating jobs and working with other MBE companies in the community. The award acknowledges the collective efforts of Metro to foster a vibrant and inclusive business ecosystem, the release said.

The award was presented during a June 10 ceremony at the MGM National Harbor, a longtime client of Metro. Young accepted the award on behalf of Metro. The event was hosted by the Maryland Governor’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs. The awards program underscored the state’s emphasis on recognizing businesses that significantly enhance economic growth. Click here for details.
