Textile Services magazine and the Textile Services Weekly newsletter were honored with 2026 APEX Awards for Publication Excellence.
TRSA’s monthly magazine and weekly e-newsletter were selected from roughly 1,000 entries for the awards, which were sponsored by APEX Awards Inc. This private organization advises publishing, public relations and marketing professionals on best practices for improving their publications and communications programs.
The criteria for APEX publication awards include excellence in graphic design and editorial content. Categories include long- and short-form print publications, newsletters, videos, podcasts and more. Senior Editor Jack Morgan said he was pleased to see the magazine receive the award. “Getting recognized by editorial peers is the most satisfying aspect of this program,” Morgan said. “Our thanks to our staff and to TRSA for their support for this publication, which has been published continuously since August 1917.”
The Textile Services Weekly newsletter was redesigned for 2026. The new look garnered recognition from APEX in the “Newsletters: Design & Layout” category. “Thanks to the staff for having the vision to carry out the redesign of our newsletter,” said Jason Risley, director, content strategy & communications, TRSA. “This recognition rewards the hard work that went into the redesign, and the dedication of our staff to making our newsletter the top source of industry news and information for our readers.”
The judges of the APEX competition select winners based on publications and other communications media that achieve overall communications excellence and effectiveness. The judges include nine seasoned communications professionals. They are led by Executive Editor Kenneth J. Torturo, a veteran publishing and marketing executive with leadership roles at Elsevier, Penton Publishing, Medical Economics and others.
The awards program, formally known as the Annual Awards for Publication Excellence Competition, is now in its 38th year. APEX was initially sponsored by the editors of Writer’s Web Watch, an e-newsletter for communications professionals published by Communications Concepts Inc. The awards program now operates independently as APEX Awards Inc. To learn more, go to www.apexawards.com.
