Liz Remillong, vice president, strategic alliances, CORE Linen Services, Huntersville, NC, will be honored at the 113th Annual Conference & CEO Summit in May with the TRSA Operator Lifetime Achievement Award. Remillong has dedicated more than 40 years of service to the linen, uniform and facility services industry, and is the first woman to win the award.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this TRSA Lifetime Achievement Award,” Remillong said. “To be recognized in this way – and to be the first woman in our association’s 110-plus-year history to do so – is something I never imagined. I stand on the shoulders of so many who encouraged me, challenged me and believed in the work we could accomplish together. This moment is not just mine; it belongs to every person who has supported me along the way and to every woman who will follow. Thank you for this incredible honor and for trusting me to help shape the future of our profession.”
The award pays tribute to exceptional personal service to TRSA and the linen, uniform and facility services industry as nominated by past operator award peers and voted on by the TRSA Executive Committee. Winners have supported the association for decades, devoting their own time to association activities and facilitating their employees’ involvement in TRSA. Their teams have taken advantage of a wide range of TRSA activities, including certification, in-person and virtual events, and benchmarking surveys.
“Liz has been a trusted, steady voice for the healthcare laundry sector within TRSA – advancing programs, advocacy and leadership that has strengthened the association and the members it serves,” said Randy Bartsch, chair of TRSA’s Board of Directors. “Her leadership reflects integrity, insight and a lasting commitment to healthcare laundry and TRSA. Liz’s leadership helped ensure our member’s services are recognized for what they are: essential clinical infrastructure. Her contributions to TRSA will endure well beyond her Board service.”
Remillong has been an important advocate for the linen, uniform and facility services industry and gave testimony as a subject-matter expert before the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in 2023 and 2024.
On Dec. 14, 2023, in her capacity as a TRSA Board Member, Remillong provided expert testimony before The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NAS), Standing Committee on Personal Protective Equipment (COPPE) for Workplace Safety and Health, where a key healthcare panel discussion was held focusing on opportunities to increase reusable personal protective equipment (PPE) textiles in healthcare settings. Her insights into the benefits and implementation of reusable textiles were critical in shaping the National Academies’ understanding of the industry’s standards and practices for processing and providing reusable healthcare textiles’ (HCTs) and their benefits over disposables. This led to Remillong speaking at the National Academies’ workshop that took place March 4-5, 2024, where she advocated for greater use of reusable HCTs as PPE.
Remillong has been recognized for a lifetime of service to TRSA and the industry. An active member of the TRSA Healthcare Committee since 2013, Remillong has been a dedicated and influential member of the committee for more than a decade. As chair of the Healthcare Committee, Remillong demonstrated exceptional leadership, guiding the committee through numerous projects, initiatives and many successful Annual Healthcare Conferences, all of which have significantly advanced the healthcare laundry sector within the industry. She also is a member of the Hygienically Clean Advisory Council and served as co-chair of the Long-Term Care Task Force, an industrywide, business-development initiative aimed at identifying outsourced laundry service opportunities amongst nursing homes in the U.S.
“Liz’s impact on the industry has been nothing short of remarkable,” said Samlane Ketevong, senior director of certification & accreditation at TRSA. “For more than a decade, she has generously dedicated her time and expertise to the Hygienically Clean Advisory Board and Healthcare Committee, most recently delivering exceptional leadership as co‑chair from 2023–’25. Liz’s commitment to education and continuous improvement was further exemplified through her role as both a task force member and presenter in TRSA’s Healthcare Linen Webinar Series – a program that reached nearly 500 participants, including end users, marking a record-setting milestone for TRSA. Her unwavering dedication, deep expertise and commitment to advancing industry standards have helped shape best practices across the healthcare sector. Her contributions are truly monumental, and no one is more deserving of this Lifetime Achievement Award. I am honored to have had the opportunity to work alongside Liz throughout my tenure at TRSA.”
Remillong currently serves on TRSA’s Board of Directors. In 2019, she was recognized for her contributions to the association with the TRSA Volunteer Leadership Award. Through her active involvement in the TRSA Women in Textile Services Group, she has mentored many women and championed initiatives that promote gender diversity and inclusion.
The award presentation will take place during a May 14 dinner at the 113th TRSA Annual Conference & CEO Summit, scheduled for May 12-14, at the Silverado Resort in Napa, CA. For more information and to register for the Annual Conference, visit www.trsa.org/annualconference.
