Sept. 18. National Commemoration Set to Highlight Virtues of Workwear

To honor the dedication and professionalism of uniformed workers across the United States, TRSA has signed on to the Network Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Dealers (NAUMD) initial commemoration of National Uniform Day, to be held this year on Sept. 18.

Initiated with the intention to provide this recognition annually on the third Wednesday of September, National Uniform Day honors the dedication and service of the tens of millions who don workwear. This celebrates everyone from first responders to restaurant staff and construction workers, and recognizes the multiple roles uniforms play in daily work life across countless professions.

TRSA members are urged to consider the following suggestions for celebrating the day, including options that may apply to rental or direct-sale garments:

• Special Promotions: Offer discounts or promotions on uniforms to show appreciation for your clients, such as limited-edition items or exclusive designs.
• Customer Spotlights: Feature customers’ stories on your website, social media or in newsletters to show how your uniforms play a crucial role in their daily tasks and achievements.
• Educational Campaigns: Spotlight similar education for your audience about the importance and impact of uniforms in various industries. Text, infographics or videos can discuss design, functionality and significance of uniforms in professional settings.
• Community Engagement: Partner with local businesses or organizations for community events or service projects, including providing uniforms for community volunteers, increasing your business’ visibility and demonstrating your commitment to supporting local initiatives.

Social media campaign possibilities include encouraging users to post pictures of their teams in uniform. You can create a special hashtag for National Uniform Day to track and share these posts, expressing the pride and professionalism associated with wearing a uniform.
