Slatcher Promoted to Regional Sales Director at LAVATEC

Jim Slatcher, a 40-year linen, uniform and facility services industry veteran, has been promoted to regional sales director at LAVATEC.

Based in Las Vegas, Slatcher has served as the regional sales manager for the Western Region since joining the company in 2016. He will continue handling sales while working more closely with the regional sales managers.

“Jim Slatcher has been our top sales performer nearly every year since he joined our company, so this promotion is well deserved,” said Mark Thrasher, LAVATEC’s president and managing partner. “He’s been very successful because of his vast experience and the various situations he’s encountered throughout his career. Jim is well respected by his peers and does a fantastic job of representing LAVATEC at TRSA and ALM conferences. I believe he’s the right person to help make our regional sales managers the best in the business.”

A second generation member of the linen, uniform and facility services industry, Slatcher has managed laundry facilities as small as 30 employees with two million pounds of volume, up to large operations with 700 workers processing more than 60 million pounds annually. After joining LAVATEC, he has worked with customers in the western United States, Canada, Mexico and South America.

“During my career, laundry equipment manufacturers have had to evolve from being suppliers of machinery to become providers of integrated solutions, operational expertise and long-term business value,” Slatcher said. “The industry has shifted from a market primarily focused on selling dependable equipment at a competitive price, to providing complete operational solutions that improve productivity, reduce operating costs, address labor shortages and protect the customer’s profitability.”

In his new role, Slatcher said he will continue working with customers in the Western Region while collaborating with the regional sales managers to determine best practices.
