TRSA member companies and their exemplary individual performers were honored by their peers Feb. 18 for their achievements as employers, service providers, marketers and community leaders.

The ceremony at the Annual Industry Awards Dinner during TRSA’s 16th Annual Legislative Conference culminated in the presentation of the Best Plant Award, recognizing exceptional achievement in enhancing capabilities to supply, launder and maintain linens and uniforms. The award honors outstanding statistical performance across key measures including environmental stewardship and productivity improvement. This year’s highest distinction, the Gold Level Award, was presented to HandCraft’s High Point, NC, facility

HandCraft’s plant earned the Best Plant distinction for its exceptional performance and operational excellence. Opened in 2019, the 75,000 square foot facility employs 120 full-time staff who produce roughly 143,000 pounds of linen per day across 30 routes, achieving an impressive 245 pounds per operator hour. The operation features two tunnel washers with 17, 242 pound chambers each, 18 matching dryers, specialty pony washers and dryers, and a complete suite of advanced finishing equipment. Its customer experience structure includes 15 client relations specialists supported by district service managers, a customer experience director, four RFID-focused data analysts, two clinical nurses dedicated to linen efficiency education and a 40-person distribution team all led by a chief experience officer.

Hotelier Linen – PureStar in Miami, FL, selected at the Silver Level for the Best Plant Award, opened in 2008 and recently completed major upgrades to its 80,000 square foot facility, adding a tunnel washer with water-recycling systems, high capacity washers from 100 to 675 pounds, feeders and folders across four existing ironing lines and two new ironer lines. The $2.4 million tunnel system investment has significantly lowered production costs while improving quality and efficiency, and management notes that the new equipment has streamlined processes to deliver a higher standard of service.

Honorable Mention winners were Five Star Laundry – PureStar, Chicago, and Wildman Business Group, Warsaw, IN.
