TRSA continued its 2025 webinar series with an hour-long presentation on artificial intelligence. Hosted by Zachary McCook, the IT director at Nixon Medical, New Castle, DE, “AI 101: Your Gateway to Understanding Generative AI,” provided practical information on how to use AI to benefit your business.
McCook kicked off the webinar with an overview of how people are using generative AI. The many ways it’s currently being used include generating images, text, video and audio for use on social media and/or for marketing purposes, data analysis, language translation, customer service chat bots and more.
The key to unlocking the power of generative AI lies in the prompts that you write for it. McCook noted that you have to communicate what you want clearly and concisely, sparing no detail. “Talk to it like you would talk to a five-year-old,” McCook said.
To get started on using generative AI, McCook recommends the following services:
- ChatGPT
- Copilot
- Claude
There are a plethora of educational resources available online for users to educate themselves about AI and improve skills. McCook noted that AI skills will be in-demand in the workplace moving forward.
“AI is not going to replace you, but the people that use it might,” McCook said. “They’re not replacing who you are, but using AI might make you better, and help make you more efficient.”
Following McCook’s presentation on generative AI, a robust question-and-answer session followed. McCook closed with the following thought, “AI is not a magic wand, it’s a tool. The best way to get used to it is to start using it.”
