July 16: Conflict/Violence Prevention, Mitigation. Employees can be at high risk from their colleagues’ mental health challenges pressing them outside the workplace that affect their behavior within. Domestic violence and substance abuse can be manifested in threats at work, in ways as deadly as firearm use.
This session equips leaders and employees with practical strategies to recognize warning signs, respond appropriately and manage conflict in ways that promote safety, trust and accountability. Participants will learn how to address tension early, communicate effectively under pressure and foster a culture where concerns are handled with care, respect, and a clear focus on both emotional and physical well-being.
July 23: Fleet Driver Safety Training. Onboard cameras, telematics and phone apps have revolutionized post-incident training. You’ll be guided by this discussion on alternatives, particularly advanced driver training, to resolve concerns revealed by these technologies. Targeted training concepts presented will include driver skill enhancement, ride-along and trainer training. Group education opportunities will be espoused, for subjects such as rear-end, parking and backing collisions; distraction; fatigue; and following distances.
July 30: Certifying Workplace Safety Proficiency. This overview of TRSA’s Safety & Health Certification program will highlight how organizations can build and sustain a culture that goes beyond basic compliance. Elements of an effective safety program discussed include leadership involvement, hazard analysis, prevention and control and ongoing training. These practices reduce risk, improve employee engagement and strengthen overall business performance.
