A Sept. 24 TRSA webinar will provide an update on current immigration policy and enforcement. During the hour-long session, there will be a special focus on compliance obligations for employers and foreign national employees.

The webinar, titled “What Employers Need to Know about Current Immigration Policy and Enforcement,” is scheduled for 2 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The presentation will be hosted by Marketa Lindt (pictured above), a partner at Sidley Austin LLP.

The following topics will be discussed during the webinar:

  • What is the government currently doing at the borders, airports and in interior enforcement?
  • What should travelers be aware of before and during entry to the U.S.?
  • Is USCIS more restrictive in any areas of work visa or green card benefits processing?
  • What are the best practices for foreign national employees to remain compliant?
  • What can employers do to support their employees?
  • How can employers best prepare for and mitigate risk related to potential immigration enforcement actions?

Lindt leads Sidley’s immigration practice, where she works with U.S. and multinational corporations to implement best-in-class, efficient business immigration visa programs to optimize their ability to attract and retain foreign national talent. Lindt also heads Sidley’s I-9 compliance practice, counseling employers on hiring practices, E-Verify and defending against workplace enforcement actions.
