TRSA staff recently visited the Nalco Water, An Ecolab Company complex in Naperville, IL, to discuss the company’s sustainability initiatives on behalf of the linen, uniform and facility services industry. The meeting included a tour of the Nalco Water University as well as the Research, Development & Engineering areas of the facility.

The Water University tour featured a look at the latest technologies developed by Nalco to service boilers, cooling water systems, Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) systems and membranes. This section of the building includes a training area to educate both employees and customers on best practices and new technologies. A guided tour of the Research, Development & Engineering area of the facility followed.

Bookending the tours were meetings between Ecolab executives and TRSA staff to discuss association initiatives, government regulations and increased efficiency and sustainability in the linen, uniform and facility services industry. The meetings included:

  • Mukul Girotra, vice president and general manager, Ecolab Water Purity Solutions and Textile Care Division
  • Bill Simpson, vice president of sales and growth initiatives, Ecolab Textile Care Division
  • Thomas Harrington, assistant vice president of corporate accounts, Ecolab Textile Care Division
  • Joseph Ricci, TRSA president & CEO
  • Kevin Schwalb, TRSA vice president of government relations
  • Chris Kennedy, TRSA sales representative
  • Jason Risley, TRSA senior editor, digital/new media

“The visit was very informative,” Ricci said. “Through our discussion and tour of the Nalco facility, we got a greater understanding of Ecolab’s water- and process-management solutions that help linen, uniform and facility services companies meet cleanliness, sustainability and business objectives.”
