LAVATEC, Beacon Falls, CT, announced that it has filled a key position with the hiring of Jake Walroth as the company’s new regional sales manager for the Midwest. Based in Cincinnati, he manages a 12-state territory and reports to Jim Shaw, LAVATEC’s vice president and national accounts sales manager.

Walroth has 10 years of sales experience, half of which are in the commercial laundry industry. After graduating from Miami University with a degree in international business, his first job was with Washing Systems (WSI) before moving to Salt Lake City, where he joined Alsco Uniforms as a sales training manager. He later returned to Cincinnati, where he worked for five years as a product manager at valve company Richards Industrials.

He is the son of John Walroth, a longtime leader at WSI, who now serves as the company’s executive chairman. “My dad’s experience in the industry was a huge influence with my decision to join LAVATEC,” Walroth said. “I realized how solid the industry is economically and how it is largely a people business, which is most appealing to me.

“I’ve been relishing the opportunity to work for a company and a product I believe in, and LAVATEC checked both of those boxes for me. I truly enjoy building relationships, and I’m super happy to have a territory that I can build and grow over the long term. My immediate goal is to meet with as many customers and prospects as possible. And while I’ll continue to learn more from the machine side of the business, I plan to provide my customers with the absolute best possible service for their facilities.”

Walroth plans to be in the LAVATEC booth (No. 1303) at the upcoming Clean Show in Orlando, FL.
