Benefit from the lessons, observations, comments of respondents to surveys taken by TRSA and the Textile Services Association (U.K.) on fires experienced in their facilities.
The survey covers a combined 49 incidents experienced by the two associations’ members from 2006 to 2024, the majority of which occurred since 2019. Respondents reported on the following for each:
- Year/month of fire
- Laundry area where it originated
- Time of day it originated
- Fire incident type (spontaneous combustion, machinery overheating, etc.)
- Products where it originated
- Fire-management procedures at incident time
- Extent of damage
- Cost of insurance claim or damage
