Ensuring driver safety requires more than discipline and learning from accidents. It’s about reinforcing exemplary performance, including rewarding drivers for doing something right. They need to understand that fleet management is focused on getting them home safely to their families and the importance of their safety to their companies’ success.

  • Training: Behind the wheel, e-learning, staff meetings
  • Driver qualifications
  • Reaction to accidents in real time: interaction with other affected drivers, determining fault without police involvement
  • Equipping trucks for emergencies
  • Accident aftermath: insurance, investigation, documentation, root cause analysis, driver followup
  • Dash cameras and telematics: preventing nuisance lawsuits, establishing responsibility for crashes
