TRSA will convene its New York Legislative Conference to advocate for legislation currently under consideration in the New York Legislature that would require healthcare facilities to maintain a 50 percent operating threshold of reusable healthcare protective textiles. The proposal reflects New York’s growing recognition of reusable textiles as essential components of healthcare infrastructure that enhance hospital preparedness, control costs, and ensure stable access to critical supplies.
The conference will gather industry leaders to discuss how the 50 percent reusable threshold can strengthen long-term demand for durable textile products, support professional laundering operations across the state, and establish a sustainable policy framework aligned with public health priorities. Participants will receive detailed advocacy guidance and engage directly with lawmakers to communicate the benefits of adopting reusable protective textiles statewide.
TRSA encourages all operators with facilities in New York and supplier partners based in the state to register for the Legislative Conference and participate in legislative visits. This gathering provides a key opportunity for industry stakeholders to make their voices heard and advance support for the proposed 50 percent reusable textile threshold.
