As the world’s economic and social climates adjust to emerging pressures, challenges to grow uniform rental and direct sale vary in intensity. How will this variance compare with what the industry has witnessed in recent years? What are the impacts on business wearers’ choices between rental and direct sale? A panel of TRSA and Network Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) members will examine shifts in megatrends on this webinar.
They’ll consider the potential for workwear revenue expansion and upselling in light of what they’ve observed of customers and prospects regarding their needs for:
- Flexibility and Agility. Do contracts create perceptions of rigidity? How do they compare with one-off purchasing. Does it appear to offer greater control over inventory, budgets and the ability to adapt to changing needs quickly?
- Cost Control. How can buyers be shown they have control over pricing and can lower overall costs, especially if they have fluctuating workforce needs?
- Supply Chain Disruption. Are more wearer organizations becoming concerned about getting what they need in light of recent global supply chain disruptions? Doing business with a single rental, distribution or manufacturing operation could shake their sourcing concerns, prompting them to view such a relationship as relying on a single supplier for essential workwear.
- Preference for Employee Choice. Limiting stock-keeping units creates economies for uniform providers, while many employees prefer to have more choice in their work attire. Accommodating customers who require a wider range of options and need to accommodate individual preferences can press provider margins.
- E-commerce. As buyers who view uniforms as commodities look to ease their workloads, some could base their choice of providers on those who offer the best e-commerce platforms for sourcing and purchasing. How do rental and direct sale organizations streamline the procurement process?
