Cintas Reno Location Earns Top NV Safety Award
The Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) of the State of Nevada’s Division of Industrial Relations recently recognized the Cintas Rental Division location in Reno, NV, for successful renewal as a Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) participant. The program recognizes employers and staff members who have implemented effective safety-and-health-management systems and maintain injury-and-illness rates below national Bureau of Labor Statistics averages for their industry.
Cintas’ Reno location has maintained its VPP status for eight years and continues to engage with SCATS consultants to further its dedication to worksite safety and employee well-being.
“Being recertified as VPP is a tremendous honor for us at our Reno location,” said Derek Bridges, branch manager for Cintas’ Rental Division in Reno. “Partnering with SCATS has afforded us the opportunity to sustain, learn and grow our health-and-safety program. Continuous improvement is a core value for Cintas and our partnership with SCATS has been a great way to foster that on our worksite.”
Cintas’ Reno location is part of an elite group of businesses that have achieved VPP status by maintaining exemplary health-and-safety protocols to prevent fatalities, injuries and illnesses. Participation in the program provides incentives and support to employers to develop, implement and continuously improve programs at their worksite(s). By taking these proactive measures, businesses can reduce accident costs and ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) health-and-safety standards.
“The Cintas’ Reno team supports their business customers to maintain clean, safe and great-looking worksites – it’s a privilege to work with them to support their commitment to their own employees as they serve other area businesses,” said Todd Schultz, chief administrative officer for SCATS. “Their continued participation in VPP strengthens their culture of safety and SCATS is proud to continue partnering with them.”
SCATS consultants provide employers with confidential hazard identification, program development, implementation assistance and training.
