Future Polytech welcomed Ohio State Rep. Angie King (R–District 84) to its newly opened manufacturing facility, highlighting the company’s continued investment in manufacturing, job creation and economic development.
The visit stemmed from conversations held during the recent TRSA Ohio Legislative Conference in Columbus, where Future Polytech met with members of Rep. King’s office to discuss manufacturing, workforce development and issues impacting Ohio businesses.
During her visit, Rep. King toured Future Polytech’s newly opened Coldwater, OH, manufacturing facility, which began fully operating in April 2026 following a significant investment to transform the former Accutech Films (Shields) site into a state-of-the-art flexible packaging manufacturing plant.
“Opening our Coldwater facility represents our commitment to investing in Ohio manufacturing, creating jobs and serving our customers with American-made packaging solutions,” said Tony Durieux, CEO of Future Polytech. “We’re proud to welcome Rep. King and share the impact this investment is making on our community.”
Rep. King met with company leadership and employees, and learned about Future Polytech’s expanding capabilities in flexible packaging and automation solutions that serves markets like commercial laundry, industrial and distribution markets. She praised Future Polytech’s investment and the positive impact it is having on the region.
“Touring Future Polytech was a great opportunity to highlight one of the outstanding businesses in our district and hear directly about the challenges and opportunities they face,” Rep. King said. “As a state representative, I value these conversations because they help me better understand how I can support local businesses, attract talent and strengthen economic development in our community.”
The new facility, roughly 90 miles east of Columbus, OH, also represents an important economic success story for Mercer County. Following the former plant’s closure, a WARN Act notification filed in October 2023 projected the loss of 59 jobs. Future Polytech invested more than $11 million to modernize and reopen the facility, creating a new chapter for manufacturing in the region.
That investment has translated directly into employment growth. Future Polytech employed more than 40 people at the end of 2024 and has since expanded to 64 employees, with continued plans for future growth as production increases.
Future Polytech manufactures a broad portfolio of polyethylene bags, tubing, sheeting, shrink films and specialty packaging products while serving as the exclusive distributor of Rennco and Maripak packaging automation systems for the commercial laundry industry.
“The opening of our Coldwater facility strengthens our ability to serve commercial laundry and linen customers across North America,” said Mark Berkey, head of sales – laundry & linen. “By manufacturing our films in Ohio while pairing them with industry-leading automation solutions, we’re helping customers improve efficiency, reduce costs and build more resilient operations.”
