One of the victims of the New Year’s Day terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans was one of Westport Linen Services production supervisors, a 37-year-old father of two from Baton Rouge, LA.

Reggie Hunter, an employee at Westport Linen, finished his shift at work and headed to Bourbon Street to ring in the new year with a cousin, according to media reports. Hunter was struck by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed down Bourbon Street at around 3:15 a.m. CST and lost his life. His cousin was injured in the incident. At least 14 people were killed and more than 30 were injured in the attack. To read more about the attack, click here.

“Reggie was a hard-working, bright young man with a promising future,” said Eddie Lefeaux, CEO of Westport Linen. “He had taken a serious interest in learning the hospital linen business and would always ask to learn more. Always with a smile on his face or a kind word spoken, he was a driven man … whose life has been cut short.”

Hunter’s family has set up a GoFundMe account in his memory to help with funeral expenses and care for his surviving children. Click here to make a donation.
