John Harwood, an award-winning journalist known for his impartial analysis of U.S. elections, politics and the presidency, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the 15th Annual Legislative Conference and Annual Awards Dinner. This esteemed event, set for Feb. 5-6, at The Madison Hotel in Washington, DC, provides members with a unique chance to interact directly with legislators, build relationships and educate them on critical issues affecting the linen, uniform and facility services industry.
Throughout his three-decade career, Harwood has reported for prestigious news outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, CNBC, CNN, PBS and NPR. He has interviewed every president from George H.W. Bush to Joe Biden and earned an Emmy nomination for his live CNBC town hall with President Barack Obama. Harwood has covered major events like the 9/11 attacks, the financial crisis and the Great Recession, helping audiences understand American elections and the interplay between politics and the economy during uncertain times.
Following Harwood’s’s keynote, TRSA Vice President of Government Relations Kevin Schwalb will prepare attendees for their Hill meetings with the latest insights and talking points. The following day, attendees will gather at the Capitol Hill Club for breakfast and a briefing before heading out to congressional meetings.
Kicking off the conference on Feb. 4 will be Kaplan Mobrey, a renowned motivational speaker and award-winning author. Mobrey will lead a workshop for supplier-partner members entitled “Performance Excellence Unleashed: Strategies for Success and Growth.”
