Loop Linen Service, Westwego, LA, broke ground on a new $16.4 million facility that will replace its longtime headquarters.
The 62,000-square-foot plant is part of a $25.1 million investment in Jefferson Parish by Loop Linen. The project will allow the company to retain 125 jobs, modernize its operations and create room for future growth as it approaches its 100th anniversary. The business remains family-owned, with fourth-generation family members now helping to run the company.
“We are grateful to our many partners who have helped us reach this milestone, and we look forward to continuing to serve our customers and grow our business in Jefferson Parish for generations to come,” said Loop Linen Service President Scott Burke. “My grandchildren represent the fifth generation of our family, and my two sons are the fourth generation actively involved in the business. This company is about more than laundry; it is about family, legacy and building something that will continue for generations to come. I am incredibly proud to be a part of it.”
Burke added that keeping the business in Jefferson Parish was a priority as the company looked toward its future.
“Jefferson Parish has always been home to Loop Linen Service and our employees,” Burke said. “Breaking ground on this new facility is an exciting milestone for our company and our family.”
The project received support from both state and local economic development programs, including a $500,000 infrastructure grant from Louisiana Economic Development and a $350,000 parish grant for site preparation costs.
Construction is underway, and the facility is expected to be operational roughly 16 months after the groundbreaking, according to local news reports.
