TRSA’s Next-Generation Executives Network recently held a virtual roundtable to discuss artificial intelligence (AI), and how linen, uniform and facility services executives can use this technology to enhance their business processes.

A total of 24 executives joined the call on May 30, which was held on Zoom. The virtual roundtable was moderated by Matthew Victor, the vice president of sales at TRSA supplier partner member George Courey Inc.

Victor kicked off the roundtable with a presentation demonstrating the recent advances in AI, and how he uses AI prompts to generate marketing videos for George Courey. Additionally, Victor created a video with an AI prompt that highlighted the importance of TRSA to the linen, uniform and facility services industry, and why companies should join. Victor uses invideo AI to generate these videos. Click here for details.

To create still images, Victor suggested using Adobe Firefly to generate AI images. He showed the group several prompts that he used to create realistic, lifelike images, including those in a healthcare setting.

Additionally, Victor gave a rundown on both ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot technology, both of which he uses on a regular basis. ChatGPT is a powerful tool for gathering information, while Microsoft Copilot is built into Microsoft Office 365 and allows its users to use AI to draft emails, get recaps of virtual meetings, take notes and generate transcripts during Teams meetings, and more.

A group discussion followed the presentation. Attendees shared how they currently use AI technology in their business and personal lives, as well as some potential drawbacks such as factual errors that users of AI need to be aware of when using these tools.

The discussion closed with Victor acknowledging that government rules and regulations regarding the use of AI are likely coming; however, the technology is here to stay and businesses will need to learn how to use it moving forward to keep pace.

TRSA’s Next-Generation Executives Network will meet again on July 24 in Chicago.
