This consultation, led by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), aims to develop a roadmap for reducing plastic waste in textiles and enhancing circularity. The consultation document outlines several key initiatives, including quantifying sources of textile and apparel waste; extending the life of products through durability, reuse and repair; and improving waste management and recycling practices.
TRSA’s comments provide information about the linen, uniform and facility services industry and the important role that TRSA members have in promoting environmental sustainability, textile circularity and waste reduction. Our industry is well positioned to help advance the textile circularity goals of this consultation, and TRSA will continue to inform the roadmap and resulting actions.
