Ohio State Sen. Susan Manchester (R-OH-12) recently visited Miller’s Textile Services for an on-site look at how modern linen, uniform and facility services companies operate – from receiving and sorting to wash processing, finishing and delivery logistics.
Miller’s is a long-standing, family-owned linen, uniform and facility services provider headquartered in Wapakoneta, OH. The company serves multiple sectors including healthcare, hospitality and industrial customers through uniform, linen, mat and facility service programs.
Visits like this offer policymakers and community stakeholders a clearer view of what “industrial laundry” means in practice. Industrial processing is a controlled workflow designed to deliver clean, safe and functional textiles consistently at scale – distinct from household laundering or small retail garment cleaning.
The visit centered on the operational realities that customers often don’t see but depend on every day – systematic handling of soiled and clean textiles, the use of specialized equipment and finishing processes that help restore textiles for professional use. These production-like steps help ensure items are consistently ready for service across route-based delivery schedules.
When decisionmakers see equipment, workflow controls and logistics firsthand, they gain a better understanding of how linen, uniform and facility services businesses support safety, continuity and operational readiness across the local economy. For Miller’s, the visit was an opportunity to demonstrate how its operations help customers keep workplaces clean, safe and running smoothly.
