TRSA has partnered with TPC Training, a leader in industrial training and workforce management solutions, to offer a new online program for maintenance tech positions. This initiative will give laundry operators a way to broaden the knowledge of their maintenance crews while keeping them in the plant.
A one-year subscription gives trainees access to a series of classes that will build on each other. The courses are online and self-paced, so trainees can complete the program at their own pace. Students can study whenever and wherever is convenient for them. Candidates may be able to move more quickly through the program by demonstrating sufficient knowledge on a given subject through testing instead of completing a class.
“Every profession requires specialized skills,” said TRSA President and CEO Joe Ricci, “and laundry operators want confirmation that their staff possess these skills.” The new program developed for maintenance positions allows employees to build their skills in maintenance management, while learning practical skills that they can apply immediately in the plant. “This increases the maintenance worker’s value to their organization, without even leaving the plant,” Ricci added.
The training program offers tiered levels (Maintenance Tech 1 and 2, Maintenance Manager) that cover the essential topics and skills necessary for success in the maintenance field, such as electrical, mechanical systems, process controls, energy conservation and more. Trainees will also learn how to troubleshoot, repair and maintain various types of equipment and machinery.
The Maintenance Certificate Program was announced at TRSA’s 30th Annual Maintenance Management Institute on Sept. 27-29 in Rosemont, IL. Registration is now open for maintenance employees to begin the training for their certificates. Click here for Maintenance Certificate Program |TRSA
