Uniform and facility services and their customers are partners in the business chain that processes billions of industrial wipers each year. To aid launderers and users in ensuring these products qualify for exclusions from solid waste regulation (and potentially hazardous waste regulation), TRSA has provided these resources.
EPA’s final rule, Conditional Exclusions from Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste for Solvent-Contaminated Wipes (40 CFR Parts 260 and 261), resolves at the federal level long-standing issues associated with the management of solvent-contaminated wipes by providing for their consistent regulation across the United States.
These resources cover steps needed to ensure launderers and their customers are excluded, such as containment, documentation, “no free liquids” determination and disposal.
