Arrow Linen Supply Co., Garden City, NY, recently finished work on an expansion project that will enable the company to expand service to the area’s hospitality and linen supply market, according to a news release.

Arrow Linen partnered with ARCO/Murray on the build-out effort, which added 72,000 square feet to plant located on Long Island. The scope of ARCO/Murray’s role was to provide a turnkey design/build solution for a fully functional hospitality laundry build-out, the release said. This included architecture, engineering services, permitting and construction, including mechanical systems throughout the building to support the laundry production equipment.

In addition, in order to accommodate the plant’s overhead rail system, the contractor raised the roof on the facility. This was necessary because of the plant’s limited footprint and was economically feasible for the company, the release said.

Equipment for the expanded plant was distributed by Direct Machinery. The new equipment includes:

  • Pellerin Milnor washing and drying systems
  • E-Tech Rail/Sorting system
  • 200 HP boilers from Cleaver Brooks with two-stage stack economizers
  • A process water system from Kemco Systems Inc.
  • A garment sortation system from Kannegiesser (located on a mezzanine level)

Elliot Mata of ARCO/Murray served as project executive for the build-out.
