The Greater DuBois Leadership Institute (GDLI) recently visited Harrisburg, PA, to meet with local legislators and learn more about government and issues within the state, according to media reports. The GDLI features two members that work at TRSA operator member Paris Cos., DuBois, PA.

Emily Reid, Paris Uniform Services; and David McDonald, Paris Cos., both made the trip to the state capitol with the group. Several Pennsylvania state representatives including Rep. Matt Gabler (R), Rep. Tommy Sankey (R), Rep. Cris Dush (R), Rep. Donna Oberlander (R), and Rep. Judy Ward (R) met with the GDLI members to discuss their role in the state legislature, and discuss issues affecting their local areas as well as the state. Attendees were able to ask the representatives questions on local and state issues.

The GDLI meets monthly from September through June, to visit manufacturing facilities, see tourism attractions, hone leadership skills, and gain insight into issues of transportation, workforce, healthcare, social services and economic development in its local communities. The ultimate goal of the GDLI is to generate home-grown community leaders, by providing participants of the program with skills and knowledge of the opportunities and resources that exist in the Greater DuBois area.
