ARCO/Murray recently completed a 104,400-square-foot healthcare laundry build-out for repeat client, Crown Health Care. Established in 1925, Crown Health Care is an independent, full-service healthcare laundry processor and linen-management company that services more than 2,000 hospitals, clinics and physician offices throughout the southeast.

ARCO/Murray provided a complete design-build solution including architectural and engineering design, permitting and all building modifications to convert the space into a new healthcare laundry facility. The build-out included new offices, a mechanical room, maintenance shop, soil/clean separation wall, all laundry process piping, electrical distribution, trenches, pits and final equipment connections as well as lighting upgrades, new plant ventilation and spot cooling.

The project involved an extensive permitting process and significant challenges including labor shortages, cost escalation and supply chain disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these issues, ARCO/Murray was able to deliver the project on time.

“By leveraging our national partnerships and working closely with our subcontractor network, we were able to deliver a state-of-the-art healthcare laundry on schedule, without any major delays,” said Project Manager Steve Lane.

The entire laundry equipment package was provided by Pellerin Laundry Machinery Supply Co. and included Milnor washroom equipment, Chicago finishing equipment, Kemco water systems and Softrol rail.
