Cashman to Step Down as CSC Leader

Jamey Cashman, executive director of CSCNetwork since 2009 and a marketing veteran of VF Corp. for 16 years before that, recently announced plans to retire. His last day with the Franklin, TN-based buying group, which includes 181 independent laundry operators and 90-plus industry suppliers, will be Feb. 26.

Cashman has earned high marks from members and outside associates for his deft management and leadership of the organization, which has grown to an all-time high in membership, despite ongoing industry consolidation, the 2008-’09 recession and most recently the COVID-19 pandemic which has dramatically reduced sales, particularly among food-and-beverage and hospitality laundry operators.

“Jamey has been a colleague and confidant throughout my 10 years with TRSA,” said TRSA President and CEO Joseph Ricci. “We’ve shared successes and failures and discussed issues impacting the industry. Jamey and I often joked that we basically had the same job with the amount of leadership, members and issues that overlap. His positive impact on the linen, uniform and facility services community will be felt for many years. I will sincerely miss our quarterly call and wish him all the best.”

Cashman describes his transition from VF to CSC as “the best move I ever made.” In a strategic realignment aimed at bringing the industry closer to suppliers such as Red Kap and M&A Matting, Cashman moved CSC’s headquarters from Wisconsin to Franklin, TN. He also hired new staff, including two employees, Finance/Marketing Manager Renee McCollum and Supplier Relations Manager Lisa Wacker, who have served throughout his tenure as part of a four-member team.

In his earlier role with VF Corp., Cashman rose quickly through the ranks. He oversaw several departments of VF Workwear, including customer service, marketing, forecasting, inside sales and strategic planning, according to a news release. Cashman also oversaw several acquisitions by VF of rival workwear companies that fueled the workwear division’s growth. Along the way, Cashman was active in TRSA and UTSA (blended with TRSA in 2008). He served for several years as chair of UTSA’s Marketing Committee.

At CSC, he has focused on facilitating contacts between operators and vendors that fueled significant increases in rebates from industry suppliers. At the same time, he expanded the buying group’s educational and training programs in areas such as sales, marketing and strategies for competing effectively against national rivals.

The CSC Board of Directors, aided by an outside HR consultant, has initiated a search for Cashman’s successor. In the meantime, Cashman will serve for several more weeks in a consulting capacity to aid in the transition. To learn more, contact Wacker at lisa@networkcsc.com. She will serve as interim executive director during the transition.
