UniFirst Acquires West Coast Operator

UniFirst Corp., Wilmington, MA, recently acquired Budget Uniform Rental, Gardena, CA, according to a news release from James Gutheim & Associates Inc., Encino, CA, which served as the financial adviser in the sale. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

A third-generation, family-owned business, Budget Uniform was founded in 1959 by Saul Shrager. In 1962, Saul’s son, Nelson Shrager, joined the business. Nelson’s son, Steve Shrager, joined the company in 1988. The business has operated out of its current location in Gardena since 1967. The company achieved Hygienically Clean Food Safety certification.
