About TRSA’s Maintenance Management Institute (MMI)
The TRSA Annual Maintenance Management Institute offers engineers, plant and general managers, as well as others responsible for maintaining and operating linen, uniform and facility services laundry equipment the opportunity to refine their technical and management skills to optimize plant efficiency. MMI maximizes equipment life and reduces downtime by teaching plant systems and components, building technical skills, enhancing understanding of electronics and improving engineering management.

Techniques to Increase Professionalism, Decrease Downtime
The TRSA Maintenance Management Institute (MMI) emphasizes the latest technologies and maintenance practices while minimizing time away from the plant and overall cost to attend. The program teaches a variety of techniques that empower laundry personnel to create more effective, efficient maintenance practices. Participation fosters their professional relationships with colleagues and the foremost engineering experts.
Solutions to Your Specific Problems
When attendees arrive at each MMI, they note issues or problems they face in their plants that the MMI class can discuss and advise on solving. Participants fill in forms that explain these challenges. The MMI Task Force of engineering experts reviews these submissions for presentation in the MMI troubleshooting panel discussion.

Earn CPLM Continuing Education (CE) Credits
Individuals who have earned TRSA’s Certified Professional Laundry Manager (CPLM) credential may earn one Continuing Education (CE) credit towards recertification with participation in this event. For more information about TRSA’s CPLM credential, visit www.trsa.org/cplm
Cancellation Policy
Written cancellations received by September 27, 2024 will receive a full refund minus a 25% processing fee. Cancellations received after September 27, 2024 will not be refunded and cannot be credited to another TRSA program or event. We will accept substitutions. After this date, TRSA has incurred costs associated with hotel guarantees and other expenses. All cancellations will be addressed and processed within 30 business days after the event.

Tommy Cocanougher is a Seasoned Engineering Professional with a proven track record of success in the manufacturing and processing industry. Expertise includes Budgeting, Operations Management, Building Maintenance, Facility Management (FM), and Six Sigma methodologies. Holds a BS in Industrial Technology/Technician from Western Kentucky University.

Paul Jewison, Textile Care Services
Paul Jewison is Vice President and General Manager of Textile Care Services in Rochester, MN. Paul is driven by large scale commercial laundry engineering experience and easy going communicative -adaptive leadership. He develops meticulous process improvement with out of the box innovation. Paul is widely known in Laundry Industry as a reliable adaptive operator and flexible team player on boards and training development. Providing continuous uninterrupted healthcare laundry service to Mayo Clinic for over quarter century with over 30 years in the commercial laundry business. Paul has seen many firsts in laundry innovation including patenting revolutionary water disinfection system that kills bacteria, saves utilities, and increases productivity with UV light. Expert at adapting new technology into the laundry industry and all major brands of equipment used in the process. Manages over 100 million pounds of laundry at HLSG and over 900 full time employees. Consulted on hundreds of laundry facilities.
Brian Varner
Brian has an extensive background in Safety and Risk Management serving in multiple industries including Linen. He served as VP of Risk and Safety for Compass Group North America for 14 years prior to starting his own company, Safety Solutions for Healthcare. His mission continues to be focused on reducing workplace injuries and exposure through a robust safety and risk program. His leadership has earned him and his team prestigious awards such as the “Teddy Roosevelt Award” (issued by Risk and Insurance Magazine) for demonstrating a significant reduction in workers’ compensation claims through innovation and collaboration with field operators.
Brian’s background in auditing and compliance started after becoming a certified ISO Auditor. He recognized that compliance was one of the keys to having an effective safety and compliance program. Over his career he has created point scored compliance audits for the linen industry and authored many Linen compliance manuals, training, and awareness programs to promote safety and compliance. As a result of his commitment to compliance and safety he was the dual recipient of the 2023 TRSA Safety Excellent Award.
