Registration for TRSA’s 12th Annual Legislative Conference & Annual Industry Awards is now open at www.trsa.org/legcon. Reid Wilson, national correspondent for The Hill newspaper, will give a March 30 keynote presentation on the latest issues on Capitol Hill.

Uniting as an industry and gathering in-person provides the opportunity to establish relationships and help educate the nation’s legislators on the issues that are important to participants, their companies and our industry. Registrants will meet in-person at The Westin Alexandria Old Town in Alexandria, Va.

Though the challenges of COVID continue, there continues to be increased engagement and awareness by members of the advocacy efforts on behalf of the linen, uniform and facility services industry. TRSA led successful efforts at the federal, state and local levels to gain recognition of the industry as a critical/essential service and briefed the Vice President’s office regarding the sustainability of reusable PPE (personal protective equipment), including isolation and surgical gowns.

Participants in this event will generate immediate and long-term benefits for their industry and companies by participating in the Conference, Hill Day discussions and through TRSA committee meetings.

The agenda for the Legislative Conference includes:

Wednesday, March 30

  • TRSA Committee Meetings
  • Keynote Presentation: Reid Wilson, National Correspondent, The Hill Newspaper
  • Hill Day Issue Briefing
  • Industry Awards Reception
  • Industry Awards Dinner (presentation of 2022 Awards)

Thursday, March 31

  • Congressional Visits

TRSA will kick off its conference with committee meetings that will allow industry leaders to assemble in Alexandria, Va., to set committee goals and agendas for 2022. In addition to convening with their fellow committee members to discuss key industry issues, attendees also will get the opportunity to prepare a unified message for legislators.

On March 30, conference participants will hear from Wilson. He is thrilled that TRSA members will get to come to DC in-person. Wilson stated, “Now that life is getting back to normal, you should expect a busy few days on Capitol Hill.” He added, “Members of Congress want to hear from you, and this is a great opportunity for you to let them know your priorities in the months ahead.”

Following the keynote, attendees will work together to formulate strategy to convey the industry’s positions to policymakers during the scheduled Hill visits on March 31.

Recognition of exemplary efforts of employees and leaders of member companies will highlight the evening of March 30. The 2020 Awards include:

  • Above and Beyond Service Award
  • Best Plants of the Year Award
  • Clean Green Innovation Award
  • Company Community Service Award
  • Diversity Recognition Award
  • SafeTRSA Safety Excellence Award
  • TRSA Volunteer Leadership Award
