HR Webinar: Handling Sexual Harassment in the #MeToo Era

Posted July 19, 2019 at 12:38 pm

TRSA’s latest webinar, titled “Sexual Harassment in the #MeToo Movement: Where Are We Now?” was sponsored by the TRSA Human Resources Committee and presented by Jennifer Sandberg, attorney and partner with Fisher & Phillips LLP, Atlanta.

Sandberg started the hour-long presentation by clarifying what exactly the #MeToo movement stands for. The hashtag started in late 2017 and was intended to call attention to victims of sexual assault and egregious harassment – mainly in the Hollywood entertainment arena. The movement eventually encouraged others, in all walks of life, to speak out against any kind of abuse or harassment.

Sandberg detailed six ways clients can handle sexual harassment in the workplace:

  • Leadership from the top down against any type of harassment
  • Strong policies prohibiting harassment
  • Training programs for managers and supervisors
  • Prompt response to any complaints
  • Impartial investigation into any workplace incidents
  • Holding employees accountable for their actions

TRSA has an on-demand learning library that will allow you to “live stream” all of the association’s webinars, including this latest edition.
