One Industry, One Voice: Legislative Conf. Set for March 24-25

Posted January 14, 2021 at 6:11 pm

Registration for TRSA’s 11th Annual Legislative Conference & Awards Dinner is now open at www.trsa.org/legcon. Prioritizing attendance at this event is the opportunity to establish relationships and help educate the nation’s legislators on the issues that are important to participants, their companies and our industry. This hybrid event will offer maximum engagement with registrants attending either in person at The Westin Alexandria Old Town in Alexandria, VA, or virtually, for those who cannot travel at this time.

2020 was a challenging year; TRSA had to cancel 12 of 13 in-person events including the Legislative Conference due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout this challenging time, there was increased engagement and awareness by members of the advocacy efforts on behalf of the linen, uniform and facility services industry. TRSA led successful efforts at the federal, state and local levels to gain recognition of the industry as a critical/essential service and briefed the vice president’s office regarding the sustainability of reusable PPE (personal protective equipment) including isolation and surgical gowns.

TRSA is continuing to generate awareness and educate legislators and regulators regarding the industry’s critical role in hygiene and improving the safety of not only frontline and essential workers but the general public. TRSA is leading efforts to prioritize linen and uniform workers for vaccinations and providing members with guidance regarding the most recent stimulus resources.

These and other efforts that will directly impact the industry’s ability to survive and recover are directly dependent on dues, the Legal Defense Fund (LDF) and engagement of members in the process of communicating and educating federal, state, and local regulators and legislators. It is important that every available member participate in TRSA’s efforts to advocate, protect, and expand the market for the linen, uniform and facility services industry – starting with participating in the upcoming, hybrid 11th Annual Legislative Conference & Awards Dinner. The agenda for the event includes:

Participants in this event will generate immediate and long-term benefits for their industry and their companies by participating in the Conference, Hill Day discussions, and through TRSA committees.
