TRSA operator member Paris Cos., DuBois, PA, recently converted nearly half of its delivery fleet from gasoline to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Paris Cos. accessed funds from Pennsylvania’s Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant Program to help cover the costs for the vehicle purchases, according to a news release.

Gasoline dependence has been reduced by nearly 75,000 gallons annually, and burning LPG produces significantly less air pollutants, such as carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, the release noted. “The state’s participation definitely helps us further our goal of being a leader in environmental stewardship, energy conservation and sustainable business practices,” said Rich Hopson, vice president of Paris Uniform Services. “This is good community citizenship, and we take this responsibility very seriously.”

Paris is one of the largest, privately-owned, independent companies providing textile- and linen-management services for hospitals and healthcare organizations as well as uniform rental programs and commercial laundering services for the industrial and commercial markets.
