TRSA Tools Promote Industry’s Value to Reopening Dining Rooms

Access two TRSA.org webpages including documents and an animation to promote linen, uniform and facility services to restaurants in dining room reopening as COVID-19 shutdown orders ease.

One webpage (www.TRSA.org/diningreopening) is the destination of a TRSA social media campaign launched May 19 to build restaurant owners’ and managers’ awareness of how our industry’s services maximize protection of their patrons and employees. The page, titled Restaurant Safety Guide, highlights the variety of reusable textiles and other products our industry provides, describing best practices for their procurement and use.

The companion webpage (F&B Safety Guide), meant only for viewing by linen, uniform and facility services operators, not restaurants, instructs such operators in the use of Restaurant Safety Guide tools:

  • Hygienically Clean Reusable Linen Animation. This 50-second depiction of dining rooms shows how such linen adds sparkle to tables, bars and counters and how adding tablecloths and place mats at increasing numbers of seats over time (Phases 1, 2, and 3) facilitates social distancing as a dining room completely opens. The social media campaign features this animation.
  • TRSA Restaurant Reopening Guidance Document. This two-page PDF for emailing or printing puts the animation’s social distancing tablelcloth/place mat scheme into words and diagrams, touts the benefits of garment rental and notes the industry’s strengths in sourcing personal protective equipment, hand sanitizer and other chemicals.

Members can customize the animation and document with company logo, contact data and other company information. Contact Sharon Sheldon at ssheldon@trsa.org or 703.519.0029, ext. 110.

Also explained in the F&B Safety Guide:

  • Hygienically Clean Food Service Certification. Learn how to achieve certification to meet appropriate cleanliness standards and best-management practices for servicing full- and limited- service restaurants, educational institutions and other locations where food is handled and served. Contact Angela Freeman at afreeman@trsa.org or 703.519.0029, ext. 111.
  • TRSA Consumer and Business Decision-Maker Excerpts. These PDFs capture results of these 2015 studies of specific interest to restaurateurs, including quantification of why diners appreciate restaurateurs’ use of linen, uniform and facility services and the key economic benefits to restaurants of using these.

The webpages will be updated as TRSA continues the social media campaign. Animations for restaurateurs will be added to promote garment rental and how the industry’s production processes maximize hygiene. Also planned is an animation for dining patrons.

Social media ads linking web viewers to the animation and Restaurant Safety Guide are running on Facebook/Instagram and Google/YouTube; these links have been added to TRSA’s LinkedIn news feed as well. The restaurant campaign and a companion effort to promote the resources to our industry generated more than 11,000 animation views in their first week.
