Robert W. Baird & Co. and TRSA recently released the June 2022 (Second-Quarter 2022) Uniform & Linen Rental Survey. The results noted rising revenues among survey respondents in the second quarter as well as a positive growth outlook among both uniform rental and linen rental operations.

Alsco Co-CEO to Retire after 43 Years    


On June 30, Kevin Steiner will retire from his role as Co-CEO of Alsco Uniforms, Salt Lake City. Steiner will remain an Alsco employee, but without day-to-day responsibilities. He also will remain a member of Alsco’s Board of Directors and on Board Committees, according to a news release.

Recognition of Benstock Leads NAUMD’s TRSA Honorees


“I’m not done yet,” declared Michael Benstock in his acceptance of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Network Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD). Observers of such an honor might view it as an indication that these winners can cap their careers. For Benstock, CEO of Superior Group of Companies (NAUMD and TRSA member), born in 1956, passing age 65 was no milestone. He strongly indicated to the audience at NAUMD’s recent 2022 Convention in Reston, VA, that he doesn’t plan to slow down anytime soon.

SITEX Corp. Plans $4.5 Million Expansion


Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) recently announced that SITEX Corp., a family-owned uniform and linen rental business based in Henderson, KY, will expand with a $4.5 million investment that will create 30 full-time jobs.

Production Summit Thrives on Diversity of Industry’s Operations


Manifesting TRSA as a collaboration of members from single-plant local companies to international chains, the May 18-19 Production Summit & Plant Tours in Chicago reflected participants’ interest in learning about practices from industry colleagues whose organizations don’t exactly resemble their own. The 80 attendees also were intrigued with consultants who offered economywide perspectives on labor force issues, giving the group ideas about how to improve employee recruiting and retention.

Aramark to Spin-Off Uniform Services Business


Aramark today announced its plan to separate Aramark Uniform Services (AUS) into an independent, publicly traded company. The structure of the transaction is intended to be a spin-off that is tax-free to Aramark and its stockholders. The company currently expects the spin-off to occur by the end of fiscal 2023, according to a news release.
