New York State Assembly Member Amanda Septimo (D-84th District) last week introduced AB 6995. The legislation would amend the New York public health law, and require healthcare facilities to maintain a 50% operating threshold of certain reusable healthcare protective textiles in their inventory. New York State Sen. Cordell Cleare (D-30th District) introduced the New York State Senate companion bill.

Association Execs Meet to Share Information on International Issues

The annual in-person meeting of global linen, uniform and facility services industry association executives highlighted the value of collaboration to address issues impacting the industry. Leaders from a dozen organizations representing laundry operators and supplier partners across Europe and North America met in Bern, Switzerland, in April to share best practices for promoting the industry’s positive impact on safety, comfort, hygiene and image of their customers and economic impact, as well as analysis of increased costs and pending regulation.

Sunny Naples, FL, will be the host city of TRSA’s 110th Annual Conference being held this Oct. 10-12. Nestled between the beach and the golf course, the conference will be held at The Ritz-Carlton Tiburon Golf Resort Hotel and will connect industry leaders, allowing an opportunity to mix professional development and industry updates with some social networking including an interactive charcuterie building challenge, the TRSA Open 9-Hole Golf Tournament and an optional brewery tour.
