A research paper, titled “Development of a Standardized International Protocol for Evaluation of the Disinfection Efficacy of Healthcare Laundry Wash Processes,” was published on Jan. 18 in Applied Microbiology. The research aimed to develop a standardized global protocol for monitoring the disinfection efficacy of healthcare laundry processes.

Wisconsin Tax Bill Clears Another Hurdle


Off the hard work of the participants of the WATS/TRSA Legislative Day in Madison, WI, the Wisconsin State Assembly Committee on Ways and Means passed AB 945 by a vote of 8 – 4. The legislation would add the Standard Industrial Codes (SIC) for the linen, uniform and facility services industry to the list of eligible industries to receive the Manufacturing and Agricultural Tax Credit (MATX), saving the industry thousands of dollars annually.

Continental Linen Service (CLS) recently welcomed U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI) to its Kalamazoo, MI, plant. TRSA organized this meeting with the congressman and the CLS team, which included members representing three of the family-owned and operated company’s four generations.

Reino Linen, MI – Growing Strong, 15 Years On


Reino Linen’s plant in Brownstown, MI, has come a long way since its founding in 2009 as a satellite facility for Reino’s Gibsonburg, OH, laundry. Reino/Brownstown currently is processing roughly 45-48 million lbs. of healthcare textiles annually for Detroit-area hospitals and clinics. Textile Services magazine is also planning a profile article on the Michigan plant.

TRSA Video Awards Honor 8 Operator, 3 Supplier Partner Members


Five member linen, uniform and facility services operators and one supplier partner will take home the highest level honor in the 2024 TRSA Video Awards competition. They will be presented with trophies at dinner on April 10 at the 14th Annual TRSA Legislative Conference in Washington, DC.

TRSA and WATS Move Legislation with Capitol Visits


The Wisconsin Association of Textile Services (WATS) and TRSA members participated in a Wisconsin Legislative Day to continue the momentum of Senate Bill 845/Assembly Bill 945. The legislation allows the linen, uniform and facility services industry to be eligible to utilize the manufacturing and agriculture tax credit (MATC), significantly reducing the industry’s tax liability.
