The Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE) Exchange24 Education & Solution Summit in Phoenix brought together healthcare environmental services professionals for a dynamic two-day event featuring networking, learning and collaboration. Held on July 22-24, the summit presented an opportunity to educate attendees about TRSA’s certification programs, including Clean Green and Hygienically Clean.

The new Hygienically Clean Certification Portal recently launched as part of the Hygienically Clean Certification Program Enhancement Initiatives. Hygienically Clean certified plant representatives may now use the Certification Customer Portal for all their Hygienically Clean certification activities.

Long-time executive Rudi Moors recently created Beyond Washing LLC, Greenville, NC. The strategic services consultancy will manage the certification auditors and process through a partnership with TRSA and its certification initiatives, according to a news release.

Honors for workplace diversity and environmental conscientiousness will be presented among other TRSA Industry Awards at the 14th Annual Legislative Conference and Annual Industry Awards Dinner, slated for April 10-11 in Washington, DC.

Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, recently announced the purchase of the linen services division of Mohawk Medbuy Corp. (MMC), Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Mohawk Medbuy and Ecotex are currently implementing the transition phase to ensure a seamless service handoff on Feb. 29, according to a news release.

Submissions to honor TRSA member companies in nine categories of TRSA Industry Awards are due Nov. 30 for presentation at the Legislative Conference in Washington, DC, on April 10, 2024. Members are encouraged to seek such recognition for their companies or industry peers.

TRSA celebrates its Clean Green certification as the program embarks on its second decade. The certification is earned by companies that demonstrate leadership in environmental sustainability and meet certain benchmarks for water- and energy-conservation and emissions reduction.

TRSA certification staff recently promoted Clean Green-certified linen, uniform and facility services companies at CleanMed, the premier national conference for leaders in healthcare sustainability. The Pittsburgh event put Clean Green providers in the same league as other climate-smart innovators, such as those who run “green” operating rooms, supply renewable-energy infrastructure and more. It was a rare opportunity to position the industry at the forefront of promoting environmentally responsible healthcare.

TRSA recently launched a customer/consumer-facing website to promote the hygiene and environmental advantages and supply-chain sustainability, as well as other benefits of linen, uniform and facility services. Users can view the website at LaundryServices.org. It includes a searchable directory of TRSA members so local businesses can find one near them.

TRSA and the Textile Services Association (TSA-UK) have announced an important new stage in their partnership. Both associations have agreed to work closer together to share knowledge with each other across key areas, which will help to drive improvements in the services provided to both TSA-UK and TRSA members. The areas include training and certification as well as aligning future global industry strategies and policies.
