TRSA recently held a series of six Regional Town Hall meetings that drew laundry operators and supplier partners from across North America, including a session dedicated to Canadian operators. These virtual gatherings focused on a range of issues such as recruitment/retention challenges, as well as policy developments in areas ranging from a new indoor heat standard to the growing prominence of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programs used by businesses worldwide.

Gurtler Launches Logistics Group

TRSA supplier partner member Gurtler Industries Inc., South Holland, IL, recently announced the formation of Gurtler Logistics, a fully owned and operated division of the company. Gurtler Logistics will provide product-delivery services to Gurtler customers, according to a news release.

Labor, Supply-Chain Issues Persist in Latest TRSA Survey

TRSA’s Business Pulse Survey for the first quarter of 2022 indicated that across all market specialties, at least 80% of operators are looking to find new supplier partners (products and/or supplies, parts, etc.) to mitigate ongoing supply-chain shortages. This bodes well for the upcoming Clean Show, slated for July 30-Aug. 2 in Atlanta.

Supplier Partner Workshop to Focus on Supply Chain Issues

TRSA has developed a Supplier Partner Workshop that will take place on Tuesday, March 29, kicking off the association’s 12th Annual Legislative Conference. The program will focus on advocacy issues and policies that impact the supply chain, with a specialized workshop that will offer techniques and tools for handling difficult conversations with customers about issues like delivery troubles, labor shortages and more.

Hurricane Ida: Laundry Cleanup/Rebuilding Revs Up … Again

To say, as many have, that Hurricane Ida wasn’t as devastating as previous storms, especially Hurricane Katrina, which struck the Louisiana coast on the same day 16 years earlier, provides little comfort to laundry operators and at least one supplier partner, Pellerin Milnor Corp., that were impacted by this latest hurricane to strike the Gulf Coast region of Louisiana and Mississippi.
