TRSA’s 2024 Industry Performance Report, compiled from members’ data from their 2023 income statements and balance sheets, again quantified variance in financial achievement between linen, uniform and facility services, and the markets they serve.

Robert W. Baird & Co. recently released the results of its Second-Quarter 2024 Textile Rental Services Survey. Revenue growth expectations trended higher than last quarter on the uniform rental side of the business, while this metric remained stable in the linen rental survey.

TRSA’s annual Industry Needs Assessment questionnaire will be distributed to members this week. The email will come from surveys@strategicinsightpartners.com. Responses guide TRSA’s identification of trends and opportunities, and evaluation of the association’s performance.

The TRSA Plant Employee Compensation study survey has been extended to allow for maximum operator involvement. The deadline for submission is March 29. TRSA’s recently released Industry Performance Report indicates a return to parity in profitability between operators serving different customer industry markets typical of the pre-COVID era. Built from a survey of financial data collected confidentially from TRSA members by MacKay Research Group, Boulder, CO, the one-of-a-kind industrywide report enables operators to compare income statements, balance sheets, and financial and employee productivity ratios.

TRSA’s Healthcare Committee is launching an initiative to survey operators on trends affecting the healthcare textile industry. The survey, which will be sent to healthcare operators during the week of Sept. 25, will address six trend categories: financial, fleet management, automation and technology, labor, infection control, and certification and sustainability.

After an optimistic growth outlook in the first-quarter survey, uniform rental operators were more cautious about growth prospects in the second quarter, while linen rental operators remained in line with recent survey data.

TRSA is encouraging operators to participate in the 2023 TRSA Industry Performance Report (IPR) survey. The IPR survey generates industrywide financial data that provides intel on the linen, uniform and facility services market, allowing members to benchmark themselves within the industry.
